With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dustin Lee Borders, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and cherished friend to many. Dustin departed this world on June 7, 2026, at the tender age of 36. Born on June 18, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, Dustin lived a life full of love, laughter, and creativity, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dustin was the beloved son of Sheila and William Borders, who surrounded him with love and support throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Amanda Castle, who brought immense joy to his heart. Dustin also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Daniel, Devin, Dylan, Kaitlyn, and Audrey Harris, and his brother Dalton and sister-in-law Brisa Harris, along with their precious children, Everleigh and Ehlani. His affectionate Aunt Shelby Harris, cousins Kacey Beech, Brianna Warren, and Tyler Harris, and his dear Grandma Darlene Schroeder, as well as uncles Johnny, Chris, and Paul, will forever cherish his memory.
Dustin's grandparents, Linda and George Harris, who preceded him in death, now welcome him with open arms in the great beyond. Their love and guidance played a significant role in shaping the remarkable individual Dustin became.
From an early age, Dustin demonstrated his tenacity and spirit, excelling in football at DeZevala Middle School in Irving, where he was honored as the MVP player for two consecutive years. His athletic prowess was matched by his talents in various trades; Dustin had a natural ability to excel at anything he set his mind to. His career was marked by his enthusiasm for working with others, always bringing a smile to those around him.
Dustin's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, swimming, and hosting memorable BBQ gatherings. His artistic soul found expression through his famous artwork and drawings. A master of shading and freehand art, Dustin's creativity knew no bounds, and his works remain a testament to his incredible talent.
Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Dustin had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, and his wonderful smile warmed the hearts of many. Dustin’s ability to bring laughter with a well-timed joke will be missed by all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Dustin's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the General Assembly Church of the Firstborn, located at 3189 Swisher Rd, Denton, TX 76208. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers during this difficult time, as Dustin loved you all dearly.
