February 22, 1967 — April 2, 2026
Dudley Wayne Pruitt Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 22, 1967, in Roxboro, North Carolina, Dudley graced the world with his presence for 59 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.
Dudley was the cherished son of the late Dudley Wayne Pruitt Sr. and Marie Martin Pruitt. He was predeceased by his devoted parents and his brother, Michael Ray Pruitt, who have all warmly welcomed him into their arms once again. Dudley's legacy lives on through his two daughters, Ashley Wilber, married to Tiffany, and Destiny Pruitt, married to Joey. His love and spirit will continue to shine brightly in his three grandchildren, Ryleigh Wilber, Rosalie Poorman, and Lucas Poorman, who will forever carry their grandfather's memory in their hearts.
A skilled welder by trade, Dudley was known for his ability to transform metal into works of art, but it was his ability to touch the lives of others with his compassion and generosity that truly defined his character. Friends and family fondly recall his selfless nature, always ready to give the shirt off his back to those in need. Dudley's caring and loving spirit was a beacon of light to all who knew him.
Dudley found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending countless hours riding and working on motorcycles—a passion that brought him immense happiness. He was a true jack of all trades, adept at turning his hand to any task, whether it was fishing, mudbogging, or simply being outside, where he felt most at home. Above all, Dudley treasured the moments spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
In addition to his daughters and grandchildren, Dudley is survived by his brother, Gregory Pruitt, and Gregory's wife, Michell. He was a proud uncle to two nieces and a nephew, who will always remember their uncle's infectious laughter and warm hugs.
The family has chosen to celebrate Dudley's life with a private ceremony, honoring his wishes for an intimate gathering. In their hearts, they know that while most people walk into the gates of heaven, Dudley will undoubtedly be riding his beloved motorcycle through them, his spirit as free and vibrant as ever.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find comfort in knowing that Dudley's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all. His memory will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to live each day with compassion, generosity, and an unwavering zest for life. Rest in peace, dear Dudley. You will be dearly missed and fondly remembered, always riding alongside us in spirit.
