Dr. Teodosio Masocol Comahig, a cherished husband, devoted father, and dedicated physician, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family in Cebu, Philippines. Born on May 17, 1939, in the vibrant city of Cebu, Teodosio lived a life marked by service, love, and quiet strength.
Teodosio was the beloved son of Carlos Venetia Comahig and Daniella Ruiz Comahig, who predeceased him. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 60 years, Marienna Ruiz Comahig, and their cherished children: Marian Ruiz Comahig Lavilla, Christian Comahig, Grace Ruiz Comahig, Tufts Ruzcom Comahig, and Pablito Ruiz Comahig. He was also the proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, who were his greatest joy and testament to a life well-lived.
From a young age, Teodosio felt a calling to medicine, a passion that led him to the University of Cebu where he earned his medical degree in 1962. His career was a testament to his compassionate nature and tireless work ethic. As a doctor and missionary, Teodosio served communities with limited access to medical care, providing healing and hope wherever he went. His early work in these areas forged a character defined by stoicism, integrity, and a profound commitment to service.
In 1964, Teodosio married Marienna Ruiz, the love of his life and his steadfast partner. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising six children with the same dedication and love that characterized Teodosio’s medical career. Their partnership was one of mutual respect and deep affection, a cornerstone of the family they built together.
Beyond his professional achievements, Teodosio was a man of varied interests and talents. He found solace and expression through painting, translating his patience and attention to detail into art. His love for music was equally profound, often filling their home with the gentle strumming of his guitar. Despite his reserved nature, he found joy and camaraderie on the basketball court, a place where his laughter resonated freely.

A service to celebrate Teodosio’s life will be held on July 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Memorial Homes, located at 165 Natalio B. Bacalso Ave, San Nicolas Central, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu, Philippines.
