Dr Ronald Dwaine Fite

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dr. Ronald Dwaine Fite, who departed this world peacefully at home on August 30, 2026. Born on December 6, 1951, in Concord, North Carolina, Ron was a beacon of wisdom, kindness, and strength to all who knew him. Ron was the beloved son of Quincy Abernathy (Buck) Fite and Dorothy Elizabeth (Dot) Reavis, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jodi Fite, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Ron's legacy lives on through his cherished children, Kevin Fite and his wife Lauri, and Bradley Fite and his wife Lauren. His grandchildren, Autumn, Scarlett, Eva Fite, and Mackenzie Pierce, were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride. Ron’s journey was one of perseverance and dedication. He worked diligently in the local mills while pursuing his education, ultimately earning a Ph.D. and a Master Black Belt (MBB). His academic journey culminated with a certification to teach Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a testament to his commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Ron shared his wealth of knowledge through years of service in the North Carolina Community College System's Continuous Improvement Program. As an esteemed graduate of NC State, he took great pride in shaping the minds of future generations. Deeply rooted in his community, Ron adored his hometown of Landis, where he served with distinction as the chairman of the Planning Board. His contributions to the community were numerous, reflecting his dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to fostering growth and improvement in the place he loved. In his retirement, Ron discovered a newfound passion for travel, relishing the opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories with family and friends. His adventurous spirit and boundless curiosity were infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace life to the fullest. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the emergency responders who offered their compassionate care and support during Ron's final days. In honor of Ron’s generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, celebrating his life by giving back to the community he cherished so dearly. Dr. Ronald Dwaine Fite’s life was a testament to the power of love, learning, and leadership. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, compassion, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
