September 26, 1949 — September 30, 2026

Douglas Thomas Wagner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at home on September 30, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. Born on September 26, 1949, in Dickinson, Doug was the cherished son of Thomas and Clara Wagner. Doug's journey through life was marked by a deep love for his family and an unyielding zest for life. In high school, he met Barbara, the love of his life, with whom he shared a remarkable 57-year marriage. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey that included Doug's service in the Army, during which they spent time in Germany. Upon returning to the United States, they settled in Billings, Montana, where they lovingly raised their family, including three sons: Troy, Trever, Ray and daughter Janine. An industrious and dedicated man, Doug graduated from Bozeman Senior High School and honed his craft in body work at VO Tech in Billings. His keen eye for perfection and his passion for cars led him to own his own body shop before dabbling in various industries throughout his career. Doug was a man of many interests and talents. He was known for his vast knowledge and appreciation of beer, his love for sitting in friendship circles, and his enthusiasm for puzzles. Doug also had a passion for collecting model cars, and his warm, enveloping hugs were cherished by all who knew him. His gift of gab meant he never met a stranger, always ready to make a friend and share a story. Family meant everything to Doug. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy into his life. Doug was predeceased by his brother, Brett Wagner, but he leaves behind his devoted wife Barbara, their four children, and a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of Doug's life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Billings Cremation and Funeral Gallery, located at 29 8th St. W., Billings, MT. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in remembering the remarkable life Doug led. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization he held dear. Doug's spirit, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, friendship, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
