Douglas Kuch
April 29, 1959 — April 25, 2026
Douglas Kuch, a cherished partner, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, just four days shy of his 67th birthday. Born on April 29, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, Doug lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering love for those around him. After a valiant battle with cancer, he departed this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Doug was the beloved son of the late Margery and William Kuch, who instilled in him the values of compassion, honesty, and perseverance. He carried these values throughout his life, touching the hearts of everyone he met. Doug is survived by his devoted partner of 10 years, Laura Engle, whose love and support were a constant source of strength for him. He also leaves behind his loving brother, David Kuch, and his wife Barbara; his dear sister, Jan; as well as his nieces and nephews, Michael, Billy, Emily, and Todd, who all brought immense joy to his life.
Doug's journey began in Cleveland, where he developed a passion for learning and sports. He pursued his education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University. Doug's career path was as diverse and vibrant as his personality. He found fulfillment in various roles, from umpiring on baseball fields—where he was known for his fair and enjoyable demeanor—to working in sales and eventually finding his niche in telecommunications. In every role, Doug's integrity and commitment to excellence shone brightly.
Beyond his professional life, Doug was known for his warm smile, his infectious laughter, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He had an uncanny ability to make those around him feel valued and heard, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held on April 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Moreland Funeral Home, located at 55 E Schrock Rd. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of a man who enriched our lives in countless ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Life Care Alliance, an organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to those in need—a cause that was close to Doug's heart.
As we say goodbye to Doug, we hold onto the legacy of love, laughter, and resilience he leaves behind. His memory will forever be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
