In Loving Memory

Douglas J Linderberry
October 18, 1993 — April 24, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas J. Linderberry, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Douglas left this world unexpectedly on April 24, 2026, at the age of 32, after suffering a heart attack at Wilson Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1993, in the serene town of Cortland, NY, where he spent his early years cultivating a love for adventure and a passion for life that would define his time with us.
Douglas was a man of many talents and interests, most notably his enthusiasm for the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he relished every opportunity to immerse himself in nature’s embrace, whether it be hiking through lush trails or casting a line into the tranquil waters. Equally, he found joy in the digital landscapes of video games, a realm where his strategic mind and quick reflexes shone brightly, allowing him to connect with friends and family across distances.
In 2014, Douglas married the love of his life, Shawnanne Hyde, on a beautiful summer day in June. Their union was built on a foundation of love, humor, and mutual respect, and together they created a warm and nurturing home for their family. His children were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in the sacrifices he made to ensure their happiness and success. His daughters, Danyale Hyde and Korie Linderberry, and stepson, Dante Rafferty, were the fortunate recipients of his boundless love and dedication.
Douglas is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Shawnanne Linderberry, who was his partner in all things; his cherished daughters, Danyale and Korie; and his stepson, Dante. His legacy also lives on through his sisters, Kimberly Allen, Nicole Palmer, Mary Bergman, Mariya Linderberry Verbal, and Vada Mary Linderberry, his grandmother Barbara Watts and mother Melody Bush who each held a special place in his heart. He is predeceased by his father, Douglas C. Linderberry, whose memories he kept close and whose spirits he carried with him.
Those who knew Douglas remember him for his dark sense of humor, a characteristic that brought laughter and lightness to even the most challenging times. While he was known for a certain lack of patience, it was his infectious smile and genuine warmth that left a lasting imprint on everyone he met. His presence was a testament to the love he held for those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
As we grieve this tremendous loss, we also celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. Douglas J. Linderberry’s journey was one of adventure, love, and unwavering commitment to his family. His spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to cherish the moments we have and to embrace each day with the same vigor and enthusiasm that he did.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Douglas’s life, allowing family and close friends to gather and share memories of the remarkable man who touched so many lives.
Douglas, you will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew you. May you rest in peace.
