Douglas Evans Weybright
December 9, 1939 — April 26, 2026
Douglas Evans Weybright, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 9, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, Douglas was the beloved son of the late William and Grace Weybright. His life, marked by laughter, love, and service, leaves an indelible legacy on all who knew him.
Douglas's early years in Topeka were filled with the warmth of family and community. He pursued an education in broadcasting, earning an associate degree that would lay the foundation for his successful career in public affairs. His professional journey was distinguished, and he was known for his dedication and commitment until the day he retired.
Before embarking on his career, Douglas answered the call to serve his country, joining the Marine Corps. His time in the military was a source of immense pride for him, and he carried the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. He was a Marine through and through, and his love for the military never waned.
In 1980, Douglas married the love of his life, Ramona (Mona) Weybright, and together they built a beautiful life over 46 years of marriage. Mona was his steadfast partner, and their love was a beacon of strength and unity. Together, they raised four wonderful children: William Weybright, Raigina Henderson and her husband Reese, Raymond Weybright and his wife Brandy, and Kimberly Weybright. Douglas took immense joy in being a father, and his children were his pride and joy.
Douglas was also a doting grandfather to three cherished grandchildren: Lucas Henderson, Maya Grace Henderson, and Lilyana Weybright. Though he did not have the opportunity to welcome great-grandchildren, the love and wisdom he shared with his grandchildren will undoubtedly carry forward for generations.
A man with a generous heart and a gift for making others laugh, Douglas was a beloved member of the parish community at Immaculate Heart of Mary. He found joy in bringing smiles to those around him and was known for his warm spirit and kind nature. His laughter and love left a lasting imprint on the hearts of his family and friends.
Douglas's life will be celebrated at a service held on May 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary, located at 11385 Grant Dr. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Tru Community Care for their compassionate support and care.
In remembering Douglas, we honor a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Though he has left this world, he will always be remembered and forever in our hearts. Douglas's legacy is carried forward by his surviving wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who were touched by his kindness and humor.
He will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery on May 13th at 12:30 pm
