Douglas Edwin Stambaugh 62 a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026. Born on February 4, 1964, in Carroll County, Maryland. Doug was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of those who knew him. Doug grew up in a close-knit family, as the beloved son of Sarah Ann Stambaugh and the late Samuel Edward Stambaugh. He shared his childhood with his siblings, Samuel Stambaugh III, Brenda Sites, and Gregory Stambaugh(Diane), with whom he created countless treasured memories. Doug's love for family was evident from an early age, a sentiment that only deepened over the years. A proud member of the Catoctin High School class of 1982, Doug was known for his gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering loyalty to his friends and family. His passions for the great outdoors were well known, as he spent countless hours riding his moped, hunting, fishing and camping. Doug was also an avid fan of football, NASCAR, and baseball. Doug's life was graced by the love of his children, Cari Younker (Terry) and Jonathan Stambaugh (Jackie), who were the pride and joy of his life. He was a devoted grandfather to Kaliah Stambaugh and Kieran Reynolds, who knew him as "Pappy". He is also survied by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A close bond with his cousin Roxy Free also enriched his life, adding to the tapestry of family connections he held dear. Preceded in death by the love of his life, Tina Fogle, and his brother-in-law, Maurice "Marty" Sites, Doug's heart always carried their memory. His enduring love for them was a testament to the depth of his character and the warmth of his heart. The family has chosen to hold a private funeral ceremony in Doug's honor.
