March 13, 1961 — April 26, 2026

Douglas Burtosky, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this world peacefully on April 26, 2026, while taking his cherished afternoon nap at home. Born on March 13, 1961, in the serene town of Great Falls, Montana, Doug was a man whose life was defined by love, dedication, and an unyielding commitment to his family and community. Doug was welcomed into the world by his loving parents, Edward and Annlyn Burtosky, who instilled in him values of kindness, curiosity, and integrity. His journey through life was shared with his siblings, Mike and Jill, who predeceased him, leaving behind a treasure trove of cherished memories that Doug held dear. A man of remarkable intellect and drive, Doug pursued higher education with vigor, earning a master's degree in chemical engineering. His career was marked by innovation and excellence, and he was widely respected as a visionary in his field. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, it was his warmth and humanity that left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. Doug's life was enriched by the love of his devoted wife, Sheila Khan, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage filled with laughter and unwavering support. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Mike, Jamie, and Julie, each of whom has become a testament to their father's guidance and encouragement to be their own person. As a grandfather of two, Doug found immense joy and fulfillment in watching his grandchildren grow and learn. His legacy lives on in the smiles and laughter of his grandchildren, who will forever carry forward his spirit of curiosity and kindness. Though he has left this world, Doug is survived by his wife Sheila, and their children Mike, Jamie, and Julie, who continue to honor his memory and celebrate his life through their own achievements and love for one another. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Doug's wishes, allowing family and close friends to gather and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Doug's name to a charity of one’s choice, reflecting his lifelong commitment to giving back to the community. Doug Burtosky will be remembered as a man of great warmth and wisdom—a pillar of strength and a beacon of love. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. May he rest in peace, knowing he was profoundly loved and that his life was well-lived.
