Born in the humble town of Minot, North Dakota, on January 21, 1953, Doug filled his years with love, laughter, and a spirit that touched the lives of everyone he met. Doug was a man of immense character and warmth, known for his infectious smile and welcoming nature. He was the loving son of the late William Wallace and Kate the Great, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity. Doug carried these values throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on his family and community. In his lifetime, Doug was predeceased by all of his family, a testament to the great legacy he now leaves behind. Despite the heartbreak of these losses, Doug’s heart remained full and open, a beacon of hope and strength for those he loved. Doug's life was richly blessed with an expansive family that was his pride and joy. He is survived by three devoted wives who were his partners in life and love, 17 cherished children who were the light of his world, and 48 beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him endless happiness and pride. His legacy lives on in each of them, a testimony to a life lived with purpose and passion. Though Doug's journey ended after a long battle with disappearing bourbon, a rare and challenging condition, he faced it with the courage and humor that defined his life. His laughter, even in the face of adversity, was a source of comfort and strength to those around him. Doug's life was more than just the years he lived; it was the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared. He will be remembered not only for his achievements but for the warmth he brought into every room and the kindness he showed to those in need. Services to honor Doug's remarkable life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his memory and share stories of a man who truly made the world a better place.
