In Loving Memory

Doug Davis
August 3, 1958 — July 8, 2026
Douglas "Doug" Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully at his home on July 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on August 3, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, Doug lived a life filled with joy, adventure, and love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Doug was the son of the late John and Suzanne Davis and grew up with his brothers Joe and Ron, who preceded him in death. He shared a special bond with his surviving family, including his devoted wife, Amy, whom he married on June 6, 2009. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with shared adventures, travels, and the creation of a successful business.
A man of immense talent and vision, Doug began his career in the vibrant world of entertainment as a club deejay at Gammon's in Lawrence, Kansas, while attending the University of Kansas. His passion and dedication propelled him to the position of Director of Entertainment at Bobby McGee's, and later, he excelled as a multi-unit manager and Regional Manager at Applebee's.
Doug's entrepreneurial spirit truly shone as the founding co-owner of Screamin' Hot Concepts LLC, a Buffalo Wild Wings franchise group that flourished under his leadership, expanding to fifteen locations across Idaho and beyond. Not one to rest on his laurels, Doug found retirement too quiet and in 2022, he embarked on a new venture with his wife, Amy, son, Andy, and longtime friend, Scott Cooper, to launch Hot Chicken Idaho, a Dave's Hot Chicken franchise.
Beyond his professional achievements, Doug was a man of diverse interests and infectious enthusiasm. He was an avid sports fan, with a particular devotion to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he loved playing golf—though he would admit not always skillfully. Doug's greatest joy, however, came from the time spent with his grandchildren, Adrian, Romy, Addy, and Ian, who adored their "Gaga" immensely.
Doug's warmth, humor, and zest for life will be dearly missed by his family, including his daughter Pegasus Jacobs, son Andy and daughter-in-law Daeana Jacobs, his nieces Varshana Davis and Alex Anne Owens. His legacy of love, determination, and kindness continues to inspire all who knew him
