Dorothy May Holcombe

October 4, 1941 — July 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy May Holcombe, a beacon of love and kindness, on July 10, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on October 4, 1941, in the warm embrace of Texas, Dorothy filled her days with joy, faith, and a profound love for her family and the world around her. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ewel Holcombe, and her cherished daughter, Ida May Murph. Yet, her legacy lives on in the hearts of her surviving family: her three devoted grandchildren, Misti Murph, Megan Murph and husband James Taylor, and Kenzie, along with her seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mylia, Zoey, Brayden, Maylee, Braxten, and James Jr. Each of them carries a piece of Dorothy's gentle spirit, her laughter, and her unyielding belief in the beauty of life. A woman of simple pleasures, Dorothy found immense joy in the presence of her great-grandbabies, who were truly the light of her life. Her laughter was infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to bring a smile to anyone's face with her warm and generous heart. Dorothy's life was a testament to her faith; she found solace and strength in her church, where she joyously praised her Lord and savored the comfort of her spiritual community. Dorothy’s appreciation for life extended to the smallest wonders of the world, from the morning serenade of birds to the gentle rustle of leaves. She had a unique way of seeing beauty in the ordinary, and her gratitude for life’s simple gifts was an inspiration to all who knew her. A private funeral service will be held to honor Dorothy's life and legacy, where her family will gather to celebrate her memory in an intimate setting. Dorothy May Holcombe leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her and loved her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we hold her close in our hearts and continue to celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
