In loving memory of Dorothy Marie Davila/Given, who passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Dorothy was born on December 24, 1953, preceded to her beloved parents, Zella and Arthur. Preceded by her mother in law Becky and father in law Butch. She graced this world with her vibrant spirit and compassionate heart, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Andres Craig Davila, with whom she shared cherished memories and a beautiful life. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Lee Given, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support. Her legacy lives on through her 5 children, Addison Davila and Brandilyn Davila, bonus daughter Katelynn Gibson alongside her husband Dennis. Dorothy's heart was full of love for her 5 grandchildren, Courtney along side her husband Tyler, Taurin, Blake, Zoey and Marshall. and she took immense pride in her two great-grandchildren, Niles, Emery.
A dedicated social worker for 15 years, Dorothy devoted her life to helping others, always putting the needs of her children and her community before her own. She was an active member of the Montgomery Eagles Club, where her presence was felt as a beacon of warmth and kindness.
Dorothy's family was her greatest joy, but her ultimate passion was cooking. She expressed her deep love through every meal she prepared, ensuring her kitchen was a sanctuary of comfort and welcome. Her early years were spent with a paintbrush in hand, a testament to her love for creativity and beauty.
Bold in her fashion and her speech, Dorothy was known for her sparkling sunglasses, perfectly manicured nails, and a cherished collection of purses. She embraced life with a vivacious spirit, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on August 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Pennington Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the incredible life she led.
Dorothy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
