April 20, 1952 — June 9, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dorothy L. Williams, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on June 9, 2026, after several years of courageously battling cancer. Dorothy was born on April 20, 1952, in the charming town of Oneonta, NY, where she first graced the world with her spunky spirit and warm smile. Dorothy was the cherished daughter of the late Elsie Coffyn, who instilled in her a deep sense of love and resilience, qualities that Dorothy carried with her throughout her life. She is now reunited with her dear mother and her sister, Betty Massotto, who predeceased her and whom she missed dearly. Dorothy's life was a testament to love and devotion. She married the love of her life, David Williams, in 1999 in Cicero, NY. Their union was blessed with 36 wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and shared adventures. Together, they built a life rich in memories and joy, serving as a beacon of what true partnership should be. She is survived by her devoted husband, David, who was her steadfast companion and greatest support. Her legacy of love continues through her sons, Michael Coffyn and his partner Carolyn Pasternak of New Berlin, Bradley Coffyn and his partner Tammey Smith of New Berlin, and Scott Coffyn and his partner Denise Zinsmeyer of Cicero. Dorothy also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Shayla Coffyn of Herkimer and Michael Paul Coffyn of New Berlin, as well as her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Coffyn of Herkimer, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Dorothy's heart expanded to include her adopted son, Michael Stevens of New Berlin, who she loved dearly. Her siblings, Diane and Steve Riddell of Haines City, Florida, and Gary and Deb Coffyn, also of Haines City, Florida, will forever cherish the memories of their sister's kind and generous spirit. Dorothy was a woman of simple pleasures who found great joy in the company of her family and friends. Her laughter was infectious, especially during her cherished days playing Bingo or on her countless day trips to the casino, where she delighted in the thrill of the slots. Her love for Chinese food was legendary, with many fond memories created over shared meals. Those who knew her well often joked that she could have opened her own gift store with the free casino gifts she collected over the years. Dorothy loved and was loved deeply. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to her family and friends have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives she touched with grace and compassion. The family invites all who knew and loved Dorothy to join them in a celebration of her life, details of which will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dorothy's memory to a cancer research organization of your choice, as a tribute to her brave battle and in hopes of a future where others may find healing. Dorothy L. Williams will be profoundly missed, but she leaves us with a legacy of love and resilience that will endure through the ages. May her spirit rest in eternal peace.
