Dorothy Kuffner
February 22, 1944 — July 5, 2026
Dorothy Kuffner, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, in Trail, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 22, 1944, in the picturesque town of Rossland, BC, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Helen and Joseph Chisholm. Her early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, alongside her sister Janet Church and brother-in-law Bon Church, who have also preceded her in passing.
Dorothy's life was a testament to her caring nature and generous spirit. She possessed an infectious smile that could light up any room and a giving heart that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her first husband, Alfie Albo, was a significant part of her journey, and she later found love again with her devoted husband, Brian Kuffner, who survives her.
Dorothy was the proud mother of her sons, Troy and Darin. Troy, his wife Karen, and their daughters Morgan, Julia, and Lauren, along with Lauren’s husband Eddy and Dorothy’s great-grandchild Shawn, brought immense joy to her life. Her other son, Darin, and his wife Christine, along with their daughters Katie, Sarah, and Riley, and Sarah’s husband Keenan, were a constant source of happiness. Dorothy's great-grandchildren, Talia, Mata, Koa, and Shae, were precious to her, and she cherished every moment with them.
Her extended family included her stepson Steve and his wife Tammy, along with their children Hayden and Harrison, and her stepdaughter Lori, her husband John, and their daughters Kiera, Bella, and Cailyn. Dorothy's great-grandchild Miles was an additional blessing in her life.
Dorothy's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and energy filled her days with delight. She was a beacon of love and kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Trail Legion, located at 2141 Columbia Ave, Trail, BC. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her remarkable life and the love she shared with so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to BC Children's Hospital, an organization close to Dorothy's heart.
Dorothy Kuffner's legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and bless her family and friends, as they remember the beautiful life she lived.
