In Loving Memory

Dorothy Jane Brewton
February 18, 1945 — August 22, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Jane Brewton, who peacefully departed this world on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born on February 18, 1945, in Paris, Texas, Dorothy's long life was a profound blessing to her family and the many who knew and cherished her.
Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Jean Brewton, who preceded her in death, along with her sister, Lois Jean Goetzinger, her beloved husband of 50 years, Joe Brewton, and four of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will endure in the hearts of her surviving family members, including her devoted grandchildren Brandon, Racheal, and Crystal Brewton, as well as several great-grandchildren.
Throughout her working years, Dorothy served as a medical receptionist and bookkeeper, roles in which her kindness and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. She later became a founding member of the family business, Computer Field Specialists, Inc., before retiring in 1992. Yet, retirement did not slow her spirit nor her commitment to serving others. Dorothy's strong Christian faith shaped her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. She found a special calling in mission work, passionately reaching out to and serving Hispanic communities. Her life was a testament to the belief that a life well lived is one dedicated to love and service.
Dorothy's family grieves the loss of a beloved mother and a radiant soul who brought light to all who knew her. In their sorrow, they take comfort in the words of 1 Thessalonians 4:13, knowing that believers do not grieve as those who have no hope. While Dorothy is gone from their sight, her family rests in the promise of being reunited one day.
In accordance with Dorothy's wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Dorothy's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others.
To Dorothy, the world was a place of endless opportunity to give and to love. Her family bids her a heartfelt farewell: "Go rest high on that mountain, Mom. We'll see you soon."
