January 19, 1934 — May 8, 2026

Dorothy "Dolly" Dyson, a beloved matriarch whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home on May 8, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on January 19, 1934, in the picturesque village of Hartley Whitney, United Kingdom, Dolly was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Ellen (Sawyer) Coombes. Dolly's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and countless cherished memories. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Ronald Dyson, whom she met when he was stationed in the United Kingdom with the Navy. The couple married in 1960 and embarked on a new chapter in Salem, New Hampshire, in 1962, where they lovingly raised their family. Dolly's brothers, Charles, George, Frank, and Thomas Holland, and sisters Ellen 'Nellie,' Norah Courtnadge, and Margaret Rufus, as well as her parents, have also predeceased her. She now joins them in eternal peace. Dolly is survived by her loving daughters, Sharon Dyson-Demers, Theresa Simonelli, Lisa Dyson, and Rhonda Dyson, and her devoted sons-in-law, Thomas Dyson-Demers and Vincent Simonelli, all of Derry, New Hampshire. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Nicole (Simonelli) Goulet, Jennifer Simonelli, and Anthony Simonelli, and their partners, Philip Goulet and Amy Parker. Dolly's joy was further multiplied by her six great-grandchildren: Avery Goulet, Camden Goulet, Anthony Simonelli, Jr., Bennett Goulet, Aubrey Riley, and Amelia Riley. Known for her culinary prowess, Dolly was an incredible cook and homemaker whose kitchen was always a haven of delicious aromas and welcoming warmth. She found true happiness in feeding others, embodying the spirit of generosity and nurturing that defined her life. Her home was a sanctuary where everyone felt welcome, enveloped in her open arms and boundless hospitality. Dolly's greatest joy was her family. She delighted in being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Her life was a testament to the power of family bonds, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her. In addition to her immediate family, Dolly is remembered fondly by a wide circle of extended and chosen family members, whose lives she touched with her unwavering kindness and compassion. As we celebrate Dolly's remarkable life, we are reminded of the love she shared so freely and the joy she brought to our lives. Her gentle spirit and wise counsel will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. A celebration of life will be held in June with details to follow.
