Dorothy Ann Veilleux

August 16, 1943 — September 21, 2026

Dorothy Ann Veilleux, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 21, 2026, at her home in the comforting presence of her family and loved ones. Born on August 16, 1943, in the charming town of Castine, Maine, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Russell and Jessie (Perkins) Redman. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, dedication, and a zest for life that touched all who knew her. Dorothy was a proud graduate of George Stevens Academy, class of 1961, in Blue Hill, Maine. It was here that she laid the foundation for a life filled with love, learning, and laughter. Dorothy went on to dedicate over 30 years of her life to CF Hathaway, where she worked diligently until the company’s closure. In her personal life, Dorothy found her greatest joy and fulfillment. She married the love of her life, Alfred J. Veilleux, with whom she raised four wonderful children: Cassidy Haney, David Veilleux, Melody Engelhardt, and John Veilleux. Her family was the center of her universe, and she relished every moment spent with them. Dorothy was also the proud grandmother to Damian, Nicole, and Matthew Veilleux, and she adored her four great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred, her dear brother Belford Redman, and she leaves behind her siblings Beverly Bridges, Sandra Wight, and Lawrence Redman. She is also survived by her close friend, Dennis Crosen, who remained by the family's side until the end. Her home was a sanctuary filled with the beauty of her flower gardens and the joyful antics of her special orange tabby, "Baby Boy." Dorothy had a love for bird watching, and her keen eye for nature's wonders was matched only by her passion for solving puzzles. She was also an ardent Patriots football fan, never missing a game, and always quick with a witty remark or wise comeback that would bring smiles to those around her. Dorothy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her quick wit and cherished moments have left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered. As we celebrate her life, we remember her for the warmth she brought into our lives and the laughter that will echo in our memories forever. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you spend time with your loved ones as time is to short and tomorrow is not guaranteed.
