Dorothy's journey was marked by her deep devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sister Lois, brother David, her husband John Eury, and her son Kenny Cubberly. Yet, her spirit continues to shine brightly through her surviving family members: her daughter Amy and husband Denny, daughter Vickie and husband Roger, son Fred and wife Jody, and son Michael. She is also survived by her brother Bill Claar, sister Nancy Hawker, sister Joy Claar, brother Herman Claar, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, including one great-great-grandchild, as well as seven step-grandkids and seven step-great-grandkids, alongside numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dorothy was educated in the schools of Altoona, Pennsylvania, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to nurturing those around her. While she held a few jobs during her lifetime, her true calling was as a homemaker, where she found joy in raising her children and creating a loving home. Her kitchen was the heart of many gatherings, where she delighted in preparing her infamous coleslaw, homemade breads, pies, and apple dumplings. Her culinary creations were more than just food; they were an expression of her love and warmth. Known for her open heart and welcoming spirit, Dorothy was always ready to open her door to anyone in need of a place to stay. Her kindness and compassion created a ripple of love that touched all who knew her. She was a woman of quiet strength and enduring grace, a beacon of light to her family, friends, and community. A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, located in Petersville, Maryland. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meritis Hospital for the wonderful care they provided during her final days. Dorothy Ann Eury will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Dorothy's memory to share a meal with someone in need, continuing her legacy of generosity. Rest in peace, dear Dorothy. Your love will forever be our guiding light.
