It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Ann Danca, affectionately known as "Dotti," on June 30, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 15, 1947, in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL, Dotti's life was a testament to love, resilience, and boundless generosity. Dotti was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Wojtas, whose values and spirit she carried forward in every aspect of her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, her brother Robert, and her sister Barbara. Dotti now joins them in eternal rest, reunited in a bond that transcends time and space. She is survived by her devoted sons, Gary (Emilie) and Richard (Jennifer), who were her pride and joy. Dotti's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Joshua, Alexandra, Katherine, and Madeline, each a testament to her enduring love and wisdom. She leaves behind her dear sisters Joan Wojtas and Sandra Bentzinger, her sister-in-law Susan Wojtas, and a large extended family of many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss her presence but cherish her memory. Throughout her life, Dotti was a beacon of warmth and kindness. Her home was always open, filled with laughter, and her kitchen served as the heart of every gathering. Dotti's culinary skills were renowned, and she delighted in preparing meals that brought her family and friends together, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Dotti's compassion extended beyond her family. She was an active member of her community and a dedicated volunteer, always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word to those in need. Her life's work was not defined by the accolades she received but by the countless lives she touched with her selfless spirit. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Dotti's life. Her family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dotti's name to the American Cancer Society, Integrated Palliative/Hospice Home Healthcare Services, and BrightStar Care. These organizations reflect her dedication to supporting those in need, and your contributions will continue her legacy of caring and compassion. Dotti's family expresses their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers provide great comfort as they navigate the days ahead, holding close the memories of a remarkable woman who will forever remain in their hearts. May Dorothy Ann Danca rest in peace, her life a cherished tapestry of love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
