In Loving Memory

Doris Orenstein
September 14, 1936 — June 30, 2026
In loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Doris Orenstein, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother (Bubbie), great-grandmother (G-Bub), sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on June 30, 2026, enveloped in the love of her children, Lynn and Brad. Doris was born on September 14, 1936, in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA, to her devoted parents, Izzy and Annie. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marvin, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Their journey together began on April 18, 1959, and their partnership was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing their children, Lynn Goldman and her husband Joel, and Brad Orenstein and his wife Bonnie, with kindness and wisdom.
A graduate of Olney High School in 1954, Doris embarked on a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper for Almo Electronics, where she was known for her dedication and meticulous attention to detail. Her work was more than a job; it was a reflection of her commitment to integrity and excellence.
Doris's true joy in life was her role as a "Bubbie," a title she wore with immense pride and affection. Her grandchildren, Max Goldman and his wife Ali, Jessica Goldman, Zachary Orenstein and his wife Jessie, and Jordyn Orenstein, were the light of her life. She embraced each moment with them, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Her great-granddaughters, Emerson and Piper Orenstein, were a source of endless delight, and she cherished every opportunity to be part of their lives.
Doris's compassion and warmth extended beyond her immediate family. She was a beloved sister to Rene Fox and a dear friend to many. Her home was a welcoming haven, a place where joy was shared, and everyone felt like family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Fran, Jodi, and Colleen, and the staff at The Horsham Center for Jewish Life, for the exceptional care and kindness they provided to Doris in the last year and a half of her life.
A service to honor and remember Doris will be held on July 6, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, located at 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Doris's memory.
Doris Orenstein's life was a testament to love, family, and the enduring bonds that connect us all. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so generously gave.
