With heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life richly lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Mae Johnson on June 16, 2026. Born on September 22, 1950, in the quiet town of Paulette, nestled in Noxubee County, Mississippi, Doris blossomed into a beacon of kindness and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Doris was a woman of remarkable grace and genuine compassion, whose gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued was nothing short of extraordinary. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, creating a legacy of love and acceptance that will be cherished for generations.
Preceded in death by her beloved family members Elizabeth Scott, Lee David Scott, Alex Scott Jr., Henry Scott, Tommie Scott, and John Neal Scott, Doris has now joined them in eternal peace.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Williemae Jenkins, and her dear Auntie, Geraldine Adams. Doris's legacy lives on through her cherished children: Early C. Crim, Darrell Johnson (ChiquitaJohnson)Robert Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Lamont Johnson, Allen Michael Peden (Pamela Peden), Monica Johnson, Theresa Wilson, Carmalita Graves (Joey Graves), Elizabeth Hall (Krandus Hall), and Amy Johnson (Harold Baker). Her life was further enriched by the love of her 40 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring family bond she so lovingly nurtured.
Doris was more than a beloved mother and grandmother; she was a pillar of her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her home was a haven of warmth and acceptance, a place where laughter resonated and love flourished.
A service honoring Doris's life will be held on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM. We invite family and friends to gather at Mother's Menu, located at 5300 Hallows Ave, Washington Park. Here, we will celebrate Doris's life, sharing stories and memories of a woman who truly exemplified the virtues of kindness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Doris's heart, ensuring that her spirit of giving continues to thrive.
As we bid farewell to Doris Mae Johnson, let us not mourn her passing but celebrate the beauty of a life well-lived. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts, inspiring us to carry forward her remarkable spirit.
