Doris L. Hargrow

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doris L. Hargrow, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 29, 2026, at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Born on December 17, 1933, in New York, Doris lived a full and vibrant life, marked by love, dedication, and service to others. Daughter of the late Gladys Cissy Magruder and William D. Johnson, Doris was predeceased by her beloved parents, her brother Dennis Johnson, and her devoted husband, Paul D. Hargrow. Together, Doris and Paul created a beautiful family, leaving a legacy of love that will endure through their children: Philip Hargrow, Patricia Allen, Peter Hargrow, Pamela Hargrow, Peggy Hawkins, and Priscilla Hargrow. Her grandchildren—Maurice Hargrow, Tanisha Hargrow, Monique Hargrow, Simone Hargrow, Philip Hargrow Jr., Nicole Hargrow, Shanice Allen, Danielle Lake, Justin McMaster, Jordan McMaster, Kimberly Hawkins, Ericka Howell, and Jacob Hawkins—were the light of her life and the pride of her heart. Doris dedicated many years of her life to her work in food and nutrition at Goldwater Memorial Hospital, where she served as a Dietary Aide. Her commitment to her role was unparalleled, earning her consecutive perfect attendance and recognition as an outstanding employee. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent worker who brought warmth and kindness to her workplace every day. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and rehabilitation staff at Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital & Nursing Facility for their compassionate care and support during Doris’s final days. A service to honor Doris's life will be held on August 19, 2026, at the Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Georgia 30060. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Doris L. Hargrow. Her caring nature and generous spirit will live on through the work of this meaningful organization. Doris will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to know her.
