It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Doris Elizabeth Pichette, who departed this world on October 30, 2025, at the age of 92. Doris was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease and diabetes, surrounded by the love of her family.
Doris was born on September 28, 1933, in North Bay, Ontario, to John and Elizabeth Pichette. As a young girl growing up in North Bay, Doris developed a deep appreciation for community and family, values that she carried with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Elizabeth, her brothers Leonard and Gordon, her sister Marie Legacy, and her cherished daughter, Joan Wickstrom.
Doris was the devoted mother of Karen Kennedy, Janice Kennedy, Marie Rodger, and Gerry Kennedy. Her children were the light of her life, and she poured her heart and soul into raising them with love, kindness, and unwavering support. Doris's legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She found immense happiness in spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and endless love.
A woman of great resilience and compassion, Doris pursued a meaningful career as a healthcare aide at Golden West Lodge. Armed with her Certificate in Residential Care Provider and Healthcare Aide, she dedicated her life to caring for others, bringing comfort and joy to those who needed it most. Her colleagues and patients cherished her gentle spirit and the warmth that her smile brought to every room.
Doris was an active member of St. Joseph Church, where she found solace and community. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was often seen at church services, her presence a testament to her devout belief and gratitude for life's blessings.
In her leisure time, Doris loved going for walks, embracing the beauty of nature and the tranquility it offered. Her cheerful demeanor and radiant smile were infectious, lighting up the lives of those around her. Doris's love for her family was unmatched, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Though she has left this world, Doris's spirit continues to inspire those she leaves behind. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a beacon of love, strength, and grace. To honor her memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Parkinson Foundation, an organization close to Doris's heart.
As we bid farewell to Doris, we hold on to the love and joy she shared with us. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who preceded her.
