With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Doris Elizabeth Pichette, who departed this world peacefully at her home on October 30, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on September 28, 1933, in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, Doris graced the world with her warmth, compassion, and steadfast love. Doris was the cherished daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Pichette. She was predeceased by her dear brothers, Leonard and Gordon Pichette, and her beloved daughter, Joni Wickstrom. Her legacy of love and resilience endures in her surviving children: daughters Marie Rodgers, Karen Kennedy, Janice Kennedy, and son Gerry Kennedy. Doris was a proud grandmother to ten adoring grandchildren, each of whom was touched by her kindness and generosity. Doris dedicated her life to caring for others, a calling that shone brightly throughout her career. She earned her Certificate in Residential Care Provider, a testament to her unwavering commitment to nurturing those in need. Doris spent many years working as a Residential Care Provider for the City of Thunder Bay, Ontario, before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she served as a Health Care Aide at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. Her colleagues and those she cared for remember her as a beacon of kindness and professionalism. Her devotion extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active member of St. Joseph Church, where her faith and commitment to community service were evident in all she did. Doris was a woman of deep faith, and her involvement with the church brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Family remained the cornerstone of Doris’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Her home was a haven of laughter, love, and warmth, where her smile could illuminate even the darkest of days, and her love could fill a room. Doris fought a courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease and diabetes, exhibiting the same grace and strength she embodied throughout her life. Her resilience and spirit remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Doris will be remembered for her radiant smile, her boundless love, and her profound impact on the lives she touched. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those privileged to have known her. Doris did not want a service at the Chruch The family invites those who wish to pay their respects to join them in celebrating Doris's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in Doris's memory. As we bid farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, we find comfort in knowing that Doris’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her life was a testament to the power of love and compassion, and she will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
