Born on November 29, 1931, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Doreen was the cherished daughter of Gregory Scott and Mary Pearson. Raised in a home filled with warmth and care, she was instilled with values that would guide her throughout her life. She was a beacon of light and resilience, and even after her parents' passing, their teachings remained ever-present in her heart. Doreen was a proud alumna of North Carolina A&T State University, where she pursued her education with the same passion she applied to every aspect of her life. Her academic journey was a reflection of her commitment to learning and her determination to carve out a path of independence and self-sufficiency. Although she chose to walk the path of life without a spouse, Doreen was far from alone. She created a family filled with love, nurturing her children, Brian Parker (Tanya) and Nicole Parker-Wells, with unwavering devotion and care. As a homemaker, her life was a testament to the power of nurturing and the strength found in love. She was the cornerstone of her family, a constant source of comfort and guidance for her children and grandchildren. Her heart was a sanctuary, not only for her children and her beloved grandchildren—Zoey, Marcus II, and Jason—but also for her great-grandchildren, who numbered seven. Each of them, along with her sister, Tianna Wells, blossomed under her gentle care and steadfast guidance. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, enveloping a host of other relatives and friends who were fortunate to know her kindness and generosity. Doreen's faith was a cornerstone of her life. As an active member of the Holy Temple Holiness Church, she embodied the principles of her faith, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her involvement in the church community was a reflection of her dedication to service and her steadfast belief in the power of love and faith to transform lives. In remembering Doreen, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and learning. Her legacy is carried forward by those who knew her best, her spirit living on in the cherished memories and the indelible mark she left on each life she touched.
