It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished Donovan Fitzgerald, affectionately known as "Fitzy," on July 22, 2026. Born on March 15, 1950, Donovan lived a life marked by love, resilience, and a deep commitment to his family and community. Donovan was the beloved son of Arnold Creese, who instilled in him the values of integrity and compassion. Throughout his life, these values shone brightly in every interaction, every relationship, and every endeavor he undertook. His journey on this earth was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, and he touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and infectious laughter. A devoted father, Donovan leaves behind his cherished children, Lenore, Amanda, and Marlon, who were the greatest joys of his life. His legacy also lives on through his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Donovan is survived by his loving siblings, Gerald and Diana, who stood by his side throughout his life with unwavering support and love. Donovan's life was a testament to perseverance and strength. Despite his long battle with kidney failure, he faced each day with courage and an unwavering smile. His spirit remained unbroken, teaching us all the true meaning of resilience. A private funeral ceremony will be held, honoring Donovan's wishes for an intimate and personal farewell. In memory of Donovan and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation Inc in New York. This organization held a special place in Donovan's heart, as they provided tremendous support during his illness. As we bid farewell to Donovan, we carry forward the warmth of his smile, the strength of his spirit, and the depth of his love. He may have left this world, but his legacy of compassion and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
