Donovan was the beloved son of Henry and Lil Popham, who predeceased him, along with his dear wife, Jean Marie Popham, and their son, Steve. The love story between Donovan and Jean is one for the ages; they shared an extraordinary 65-year marriage filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering support. Their bond was a testament to a life lived with love and understanding. A graduate of Tarleton, Donovan embarked on a career as a postman, touching countless lives with his friendly demeanor and genuine care. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life into his second passion: farming. Donovan found joy in the simple beauty of working the land, with a special fondness for cows and horses. His connection to the earth was a reflection of his humble and grounded nature. Known for his witty, flirty, and funny personality, Donovan had an infectious spirit that could light up any room. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. His humor was only matched by his warmth and his ability to find joy in everyday moments. Donovan is survived by his loving children, Kathy and Stuart, who carry forward his legacy with grace and strength. He was a proud grandfather to Weston, Greg, Kyle, and Brandon, and a doting great-grandfather to Bradley, Samantha, Hazel, Chandler, Carsen, Kevin, Breanah, and Rhett. Each of his eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Joy, Mac, Morris, Lyndell, Sherry, and Janice, who will continue to celebrate his memory with stories of their shared childhood and lifelong bond. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Donovan's life, in accordance with his wishes. Though the service will be intimate, the love and admiration for Donovan will be felt far and wide, as family and friends remember a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and enduring faith. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the memories of a life well-lived, and the knowledge that Donovan is reunited with those who have gone before him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him, and his spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family.
