June 2, 1937 — August 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Donna Sue Miesse, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on August 5, 2026, at the age of 89. Donna was born on June 2, 1937, in the quaint town of Croton, Ohio, to loving parents Luther and Ruth {Hill} Butt. She was a blessing to all who knew her and touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and kindness. Throughout her life, Donna was a beacon of strength and independence, traits she carried into her many years of dedicated work at Holophane before her well-earned retirement. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life were evident in her many hobbies and interests. Donna enjoyed staying active through long walks and had a passion for reading. She cherished moments spent playing cards and games with friends, where her quick wit and infectious laughter often filled the room. A deeply loving and devoted family woman, Donna is survived by her cherished children, Ed (Jean) Parks, Julie (John) Horn, and Brenda Cowans, who were the pride of her life. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Horn, Ashley (Kristopher) McInturff, and Lindsey (Andrew) Belgen, and her great-grandchildren, Riley (Xandy) McInturff, Logan Horn, Peyton Horn, Reese McInturff, Camden Horn, and Hadley McInturff. Donna's sister, Becky Wood, as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her faithful companion, her dog Franny, also remains part of her enduring legacy. Donna's family will forever cherish memories of afternoons spent playing pool in the basement, engaging in countless games of Rummy, and relishing her renowned homemade pies. The simple joy of her "roly polies," made from leftover pie crust, and her delicious homemade applesauce, prepared from freshly picked apples, will remain treasured traditions. Donna's grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember her not only for these special treats but for the joy and laughter she brought into their lives. She was predeceased by her grandson, Nick Horn, and her siblings, Joe and Jim Butt, and Mary Beckwith, who she now joins in eternal peace. Donna's love for music was evident in her joy of attending CMFO and singing with the CMFO Sweethearts, where her voice and spirit found a harmonious home. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of their choice, honoring Donna's generous spirit and her desire to help others. As we bid farewell to Donna, may we carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
