In Loving Memory

Donna Pauline Harris
May 12, 1939 — May 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Donna Pauline Harris, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who graced this world for nearly 87 years. Pauline passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and an unyielding spirit.
Born on May 12, 1939, in the small town of Nyssa, Oregon, Pauline was the daughter of Al and Lorene Hudson. A proud graduate of Yoncalla High School in 1957, Pauline soon found love and partnership when she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Harris, on November 22 of the same year. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and devotion that would span several decades until Jim's passing.
Pauline was a dedicated homemaker and the loving mother of three children. She found immense joy in nurturing her family and creating a home filled with love and laughter. Her capacity to love extended far beyond her immediate family, and she never met a stranger. Pauline's list of friends was more than a mile long, a testament to her genuine nature and the many lives she touched with her kindness.
Her occupational endeavors were diverse, but it was in housekeeping that Pauline found particular satisfaction. Her dedication to her work, much like her approach to life, was marked by diligence and care. Outside of her working life, Pauline was a member of the Church of Christ in Drain, Oregon, where she found strong relationship with Christ and a sense of community.
Pauline's passions were simple. She had a deep love for reading. She also enjoyed reading maps and atlases, which filled her days with knowledge and stories from lands far and wide. Her garden and flower beds were her sanctuary, a place where she cultivated beauty. Pauline also cherished the serene moments spent camping on the North Umpqua River at Eagle Rock Campground, Space 6 with her husband Jim, while he engaged in one of his favorite hobbies fly fishing.
Pauline's legacy is carried forward by her surviving family: her son, Joe and his wife Brenda; her daughter, Jean and her husband Sam Jones; and her brother, Jim Hudson. She leaves behind four adoring grandchildren: Luke Harris, married to Ana; Mary Loose, married to Josh; Chelsea Schock, married to Chris; and Danny Jones. Her delight was multiplied through her seven great-grandchildren: Lillian Harris, Liam Harris, Ronnie Harris, Emma Schock, Yadhrua Harris, Bo Schock, and Lydia Loose, who brought her boundless joy and laughter.
Pauline is predeceased by her husband, Jim, and her son, Jeff, her sister, Shirley and her sister-in-law, Nancylee who all now warmly welcome her into their embrace once more.
A service to honor and celebrate Pauline's life will be held on May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Yoncalla Cemetery. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Pauline are invited to come together in remembrance of a remarkable woman who lived with grace, compassion, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Pauline's memory to the Drain Church of Christ so they may continue to spread the Word of God.
Donna Pauline Harris's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy is one of love, character, and an unwavering strength which will continue to inspire for generations to come.
