August 8, 1932 — May 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Marie Moore, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend. Donna departed this world on May 23, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and the dedicated staff at Riverside Nursing in Grand Haven, Michigan. Born on August 8, 1932, in the quaint town of Fremont, Michigan, Donna was the beloved daughter of Lozier "Mike" Wantz and Ida Barnhard. She was a devoted sister to Terry Wantz, who predeceased her, and a loving wife to Carter Dixon Moore Sr., with whom she shared 35 beautiful years of marriage until his passing. Donna's educational journey began at Montague High School, where she graduated in 1950. Her life was a testament to the values she held dear: love, kindness, and a generous spirit. These traits were evident in the warm and nurturing home she created, which was always filled with the aroma of her great home cooking and the joyful presence of family. Her gentle nature and radiant silver hair were as distinctive as her unwavering love for animals. Donna's home was often a haven for creatures great and small, and her compassion for them was matched only by the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy continues through her children, Carter Moore Jr. (Kathy), Tracey Moore (Jason Gorski), and Lisa (Randy) Walls, who were the lights of her life. Donna was a devoted grandmother to Cameron and Kai Moore, Gabrielle and Nicholas Gorski, and Sam, Charlie, Lauren, and Henry Walls. Each of them carries forward the lessons and love imparted by their grandmother, whose presence will forever be missed but never forgotten. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to all who provided care and companionship to Donna in her final years. Special thanks are due to her dedicated caregivers, Cien and Mary, and the entire staff at Riverside Nursing, whose compassion and attention brought comfort to Donna and her family. A private celebration of Donna's life will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna's name to a local animal shelter, a tribute to her enduring affection for the animals she so dearly loved. As we remember Donna, let us honor her legacy by living with the same kindness, grace, and love that she exemplified every day of her life. Rest in peace, dear Donna. You will forever remain in our hearts.
