It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Donna Marie Griffiths, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on October 8, 1936, in the heart of Salina, Kansas, Donna peacefully departed this life on August 28, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by love at Dignity Care Home. Donna was the beloved daughter of Herman and Ruth Walker, who instilled in her values of kindness and resilience. She was raised alongside her five sisters, Wanita Dalland, Margie Throne, Arliss Spears, Agnes Mrha, and Wilma Howie, forging bonds of sisterhood that would last a lifetime. Though her parents and four of her sisters have predeceased her, their memories remained a guiding light in her life. A proud graduate of Chapman High School, Donna's early years in Kansas were filled with a love for learning and a deep appreciation for family. She married and embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood, raising her children with unwavering devotion. Donna is predeceased by her sons, Larry and Lynn Griffiths, whose memories she held close to her heart. Donna's legacy lives on through her surviving daughter, Sherri Carlton, and her husband, Paul Carlton, as well as her sister, Wilma Howie. She was a doting grandmother to Christa Carlton Dachille, Matthew Byron Carlton, John Paul Carlton, Alex Griffiths, and Kendal Griffiths Shaw, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her love extended further to her great-grandchildren, Walker Dachille, Lake Dachille, Ava Carlton, and Isabel Carlton, who will carry her spirit into future generations. Donna's family extends their deepest gratitude to Kindred Hospice and the caregivers at Dignity Care Home in Salina, whose compassionate care and kindness made her final days peaceful and dignified. A private graveside service and burial will be held on Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery near Carlton, Kansas. While the service will be intimate, the family invites those who knew and loved Donna to hold her memory in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, reflecting Donna's gratitude for the care and support she received. Donations can be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, KS 67401. Donna Marie Griffiths leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance.
