It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna M. Osonitsch, who left this world in her sleep on April 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on September 4, 1954, in Jamaica NY, Donna was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many with warmth, humor, and compassion. Donna was the cherished daughter of the late Joan Nerone. She grew up in a loving family, sharing a deep bond with her sister JoAnn D'Amico and her brother Anthony Nerone. Donna carried the values instilled by her parents into adulthood, always embodying kindness and empathy in her interactions with others. Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry F. Osonitsch, with whom she shared a marriage filled with love and laughter. Though life presented its share of challenges, Donna faced them with unwavering strength and a smile that could light up the darkest of days. Her career journey reflected her dedication and vibrant spirit. Donna took great pride in her work and found joy in every role she embraced. From her early years at McDonald's to her positions at Stop and Shop, and finally at Trader Joe's, she was known for her infectious enthusiasm and genuine care for her colleagues and customers alike. Donna's sense of humor was legendary; she had an uncanny ability to make others laugh, even in trying times. Her laughter was a balm to those around her, and her compassionate nature made her a confidante and friend to many. She was a woman of remarkable grace, whose heart was as vast as her generosity. Donna's spirit lives on in the hearts of her surviving family members: her devoted sister JoAnn and brother-in-law Alphonso D'Amico; her loving nephew Christopher and his wife BeJoey D'Amico; her treasured great-niece Angelina and niece Nicole, along with Nicole’s husband Gianluca Giuliano; and her dear great-nephews Alexander Nicholas and Peter. Her brother Anthony and sister-in-law Marilu Nerone also survive her, along with countless friends and extended family who will forever hold her memory dear. A service to honor and celebrate Donna's life will be held on April 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Park Chapels, located at 2175 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY. Family and friends are invited to join in commemorating a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of a remarkable woman who left an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to know her. Donna may not have had grandchildren, but her nurturing spirit and kindness touched generations. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and compassion — qualities that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Donna M. Osonitsch will be deeply missed, but her love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace at Lutheran All Faiths Glendale NY
