Born on May 5, 1935, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Donna was the cherished daughter of Daisy and Daniel Hunt. Donna's life was a testament to endurance, love, and unwavering commitment. She was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband, Schaefer, and her dear brother, Tom Hunt. Together with Schaefer, she built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Kevin and Kim Schaefer. Donna was a beacon of light to her family, who lovingly recount her quick wit and infectious smile. She had an incredible ability to lighten any mood and a gift for making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Her generosity and kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her professional life was marked by dedication and excellence, having served as an executive office manager for Drywall for an impressive 35 years. Beyond her career, Donna was a proud president of her sorority, where she forged lifelong friendships and shared her vibrant spirit. An aficionado of nature's wonders, Donna adored butterflies and dolphins, and she cherished every moment spent with her family, particularly during birthdays and holidays. Her home was a sanctuary where generations gathered, filled with joy and the warmth of her love. Donna's legacy lives on through her children, Kevin and Kim; her grandchildren, Kristina, Kenny, and Kalvin; and her great-grandchildren, Karly, Chelsey, CJ, Kaylee, Jaliyah, and Kassidy. Her love continues to ripple through the lives of her great-great-grandchildren: Brandon, Emily, Neeko, Kameron, Keani, and Mylo. A service to honor and celebrate Donna's life will be held on October 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, located at 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA 95125. The family invites all who knew her to join in remembering a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Donna's spirit of giving.
