Donna Lee Jackson
July 19, 1935 — January 25, 2022
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Jackson, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, and friend. Donna left this earthly realm on January 25, 2022, at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado, at the age of 86. She was born on July 19, 1935, in the charming town of Paris, Illinois, to her devoted parents John and Jessie Emery.
Donna's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty found in simple joys. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Larry Jackson, in Chicago, Illinois. Their marriage of nearly 74 years was a remarkable journey filled with unwavering support, laughter, and countless adventures. Together, they lovingly raised three children—Veronica, Robert, and Mark—creating a nurturing home that was a sanctuary of warmth and joy.
Donna's life was rich with love and family, blessed with her brothers Jon and Ron, who survive her, and predeceased by her siblings Janie, Ariana, and Archie. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished daughter Veronica and her husband Michael Jones, sons Robert and Mark, and Mark's wife Kathy. She was the proud Grandmother of Tim Jones, married to Michelle, and Stacey Giles, married to Mike. Her great-grandchildren, Delaney, Jordan, Jamie, and Jessica, were a constant source of pride and joy for her.
Having completed her high school education, Donna dedicated her life to being a homemaker, where she found immense satisfaction and joy. Her love for her family was boundless, and she delighted in baking delicious treats, sharing them generously with family and friends. Her vibrant vegetable garden was a testament to her connection with nature, and she found peace and creativity in the art of crocheting and sewing. Donna's kind and warm soul was often expressed through song, as she had a passion for singing old tunes that brought smiles to those around her.
Donna's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the TRU Hospice nurses and staff for their compassionate care and support during her final days. A private funeral ceremony will be held in her honor, allowing her family and close friends to celebrate her life and legacy in an intimate setting.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Donna's generous spirit and her love for giving back to the community.
As we bid farewell to Donna, we cherish the memories and love she leaves behind. Her legacy will continue to inspire and comfort us, as we remember her gentle soul and the beauty she brought into our lives. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light she so generously shared with the world.
