Donna L Jackson

July 19, 1935 — January 25, 2022

In loving memory of Donna L. Jackson, who peacefully passed away on January 25, 2022, at the age of 86. Born on July 19, 1935, in Paris, Illinois, Donna was a beacon of love, warmth, and resilience to all who knew her. Donna was preceded in death by her beloved parents, a brother, and two sisters, and now joins them in eternal rest. Her enduring spirit lives on through her devoted husband, Larry D. Jackson, with whom she shared a beautiful 69-year marriage, having wed on September 13, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Veronica Jones (Michael), Robert Jackson, and Mark Jackson (Kathie), all of whom carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. A woman of many talents and passions, Donna found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener, tending to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her family. Her evenings were often spent on leisurely walks, taking in the serene beauty of nature. Donna's skill with crochet needles created countless cherished heirlooms for her family and friends, tangible reminders of her love and creativity. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, her face would light up with pure joy, embracing every precious moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tim Jones (Michelle), Stacey Giles (Mike), and her four beloved great-grandchildren, Delaney and Jordan Jones, and Jamie and Jessica Giles. Donna's kitchen was the heart of her home, where the aroma of her famous "Coca Cola Chocolate Cake" invited family and friends to gather and share in laughter and love. Her baking was not just a testament to her culinary skills but also an expression of her generous and caring nature. She leaves behind her two brothers, Jon Emery and Ron Bluestone, who will cherish their memories and bonds forever. Donna's life was a testament to the love and dedication she showed to her family, friends, and community, a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. The Jackson family extends their deepest gratitude to TRU Hospice Care Services for their unwavering kindness, compassion, and support during Donna's final days. Their care provided comfort not only to Donna but also guidance and solace to her family. In keeping with Donna's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her memory. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Donna's memory may do so by making a donation to a charity of their choice. Donna L. Jackson will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by all whose lives she touched with her love, grace, and indomitable spirit.
