Donna Foote
July 24, 1969 — June 3, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Foote, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on June 3, 2026, at the age of 56. Donna passed away peacefully at her home in Schenectady, NY, after a courageous battle with congestive heart disease and diabetes, with which she struggled for many years.
Donna was born on July 24, 1969, in Schenectady, NY, to Jean Monroe and the late Glenn Foote Sr. She grew up in a loving and supportive family, learning from an early age the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity. These values guided her throughout her life and were qualities that she passed on to those she cherished most.
Donna's life was a testament to the power of love and perseverance. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Elizabeth Foote, and a doting grandmother to Niyla Rae Latham, whom she adored with all her heart. Her family was the center of her universe, and she found immense joy in spending quality time with them. Donna's spirit was infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to light up any room with her laughter and warmth.
Donna's zest for life was evident in her love for fun and celebration. She cherished time spent with her friends and family, often hosting gatherings filled with joy and camaraderie. Her home was a haven for those she loved, and her welcoming nature ensured that everyone felt like family. Donna's generous heart knew no bounds; she was always giving and helping others, embodying the true essence of compassion and selflessness.
She was in a long-term, loving relationship with Herbert Lassiter, who stood by her side through life's highs and lows. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Donna is also survived by her devoted and supportive family: her daughter Elizabeth Foote; her granddaughter Niyla Rae Latham; her sisters Jean Emma and Tina Foote; her brothers Glenn Foote Jr. and Mark Blond Jr.; and her mother, Jean Monroe. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Foote Sr., whose memory she cherished dearly.
A service to celebrate Donna's extraordinary life will be held on June 9, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Bond Funeral Home, located at 1614 Guildeeland Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a life lived with grace, love, and generosity beyond measure.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Donna's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Donna Foote will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
