DONNA CHOFEY

October 18, 1971 — July 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Chofey, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 23, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on October 18, 1971, in Scranton, PA, Donna was the cherished daughter of the late Maureen Klatch and Chester Lovenduski, and she carried their legacy with grace and love throughout her life. Donna was a remarkable woman whose life was an embodiment of love and dedication. Her family and friends were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. As a devoted spouse to her husband, David Chofey, Donna shared a bond of partnership and love that was an inspiration to all who knew them. She was a nurturing and supportive mother to Krista Marsland, Corey Marsland and wife Stephanie, Kyle Marsland and companion Alyssa, and Kayla Chofey. Her children were her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion. As a grandmother, Donna found immense joy and fulfillment in her four grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and family traditions that will be carried on by future generations. Donna's warmth extended beyond her immediate family. She was a beloved sister to Debbie Lovenduski and Donnie Lovenduski, and a cherished aunt to numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Her kindness and generosity were felt by all who knew her, and her home was always a welcoming haven filled with warmth and laughter. In addition to her family, Donna built a community of friends who became like family, and she remained a steadfast friend through life's many seasons. Her compassionate nature and unwavering support touched the lives of all she encountered. Though we mourn the loss of Donna, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved parents, Maureen and Chester, in eternal peace. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind. Services will be private under the care of Thomas J Hughes funeral home in Scranton. Donna Chofey will be deeply missed but forever remembered, as her legacy of love and compassion lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
