It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Shirley Miles on July 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on March 4, 1936, in the small town of Lamesa, Texas, Donna was a beacon of love and warmth, whose presence graced the lives of all who knew her.
Donna married the love of her life, Willie Miles, on June 10, 1951. Together they built a family filled with love and laughter, sharing a remarkable partnership that spanned over seven decades. Their enduring love story was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Donna is predeceased by her mother, Margery Sherard, whose kindness and wisdom she carried forward throughout her life. She is survived by her cherished children: Donna Pedigo, Mary Elder, and Peggy Bill, who each carry on her legacy of kindness and integrity. Her family was her pride and joy, and she adored her grandchildren—Jesse and Jessica Beverly, Kevin Beverly, Mathew and Heather Pedigo, and Amanda Pedigo—who each inherited her zest for life and compassionate spirit. Donna also leaves behind four great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her golden years.
A true friend to many, Donna shared a lifelong bond with her dear friend Mattie Taylor. Their friendship was a testament to loyalty and shared memories, standing the test of time through countless adventures and shared moments of quiet reflection.
Donna lived a life devoted to her family and community. She was known for her generous heart, always extending a hand to those in need and nurturing the bonds of family with unwavering dedication. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, filled with laughter, wisdom, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals.
Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
In honor of Donna's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and kindness that she embodied throughout her life.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Donna's remarkable life at a service to be held at a later date, where we will gather to remember her love, her laughter, and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts.
