Donita Chace

January 12, 1952 — February 19, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of Donita Chace, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Donita left this world peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on January 12, 1952, in the welcoming town of Meadville, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Viola Murkens. Donita's journey through life was marked by a profound sense of positivity and an unyielding faith that brightened the lives of everyone she touched. A proud graduate of Meadville High School, she furthered her education at Brevard Community College, where she laid the groundwork for a life filled with community service, compassion, and love. For nearly 29 years, Donita shared a marriage filled with love and companionship with her late husband, Calvin Chace. Their union was blessed with two children, Cassie Harle (Chris) and Kevin Kramer (Teresa), who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through them and her adored granddaughters, Catelyn, Charlotte, and Clara, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Donita's life was enriched by her involvement in the Junior League of Brevard County, where she dedicated countless hours to making a difference in her community. Her volunteer work at St. Mark's Academy, during her daughter's early school years, exemplified her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to supporting others. Her love for music was as varied as it was profound, with a playlist that spanned classical, oldies, Broadway hits, and the soulful melodies of Celine Dion and country tunes. A passionate animal lover, Donita found joy in the natural world, often spending peaceful afternoons on her back porch, observing the lively antics of birds, squirrels, turtles, and even the occasional alligator by the pond. Her beloved cat, Gypsy, who shared her home for 15 years, was a constant companion and source of daily joy. Donita is survived by her children, Cassie and Kevin, her brothers David Murkens (Diane) and Darrell Murkens (Jana), and her treasured granddaughters. She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents and her beloved husband, Calvin. A celebration of Donita's life will be held on April 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, located at 5400 Village Dr., Rockledge, FL 32955. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Donita are warmly invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a life beautifully lived. In the words of her family, Donita will remain "Forever in our hearts," a testament to the enduring love and light she brought into the world. As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, we honor her legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering optimism, knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
