It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Donald William Obuchowski, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on May 6, 2026. Donald passed away peacefully at his home in Webster, Massachusetts, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. He was born on December 25, 1952, a special Christmas gift to his parents, Joseph and Josephine (Hryzan) Obuchowski, in the town that would forever hold his heart, Webster, Massachusetts. Donald's journey through life was one marked by dedication, integrity, and a heartfelt commitment to his community and family. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved siblings, Joseph, Ronald, and Andrew Obuchowski, as well as his sisters, Brenda Obuchowski and Marianne Gayheart. He now joins them in eternal rest. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan (Burgett) Obuchowski. Their marriage, which began on September 19, 1981, was a testament to enduring love and mutual support. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including their daughter, Jennifer Obuchowski, and her companion, Joshua White of Framingham; their sons, Matthew T. Obuchowski of Lowell and Michael Obuchowski of Webster; and their daughter, Kayla Obuchowski of Webster. Donald's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Alianna Phelps, Jaymeson White, Kayana Spence, and Rylie Obuchowski, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother, David Obuchowski, and his wife Donna of Webster, and his sister, Lynne Lewis of Colorado, who will hold his memory close in their hearts. Donald's professional life was dedicated to public service, notably spending over 20 years as Superintendent of the Sutton Waste Water Facility. He played a pivotal role in overseeing the construction of the plant, a testament to his commitment to improving community infrastructure. Prior to this, he served the Town of Webster in the Water & Sewer Departments, always striving to better the community he loved. A man of many talents and interests, Donald was a dedicated board member of the Kosciuszko Society (Bush Hall) and had a keen interest in local politics. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as scratching lottery tickets and, most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. Donald was also a passionate supporter of youth sports, having coached Little League Baseball, American Legion Baseball, Bartlett High School JV Baseball, and Webster Men's Softball. His contributions to the community were recognized when he was honored as the Elks Man of the Year in 1978, a testament to his commitment to service and community spirit. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Donald's life on May 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, located at 48 School Street, Webster, MA 01570. The service will be a time to remember and honor a man who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication. Donald William Obuchowski's legacy will be one of love, dedication, and service. He leaves behind a community and family that will forever cherish his memory and strive to live by the example he set. May he rest in peace, enveloped in the love he so generously shared throughout his life.
