June 4, 1960 — May 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the time we shared that we announce the passing of Donald Ray Woodard, who peacefully departed this world on May 23, 2026, following an unexplained decline in his health. Born on June 4, 1960, in the warm embrace of Oakdale, Louisiana, Donald was a cherished gift to his parents, Clarence and Mary Woodard. Throughout his life, Donald graced those around him with a warm smile and an unmistakable laugh, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. His friendly nature and welcoming spirit earned him friends from all walks of life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Donald was predeceased by his devoted parents, Mary and Clarence, his beloved sister Joyce Woodard-Gaines, and his brother George B. Woodard. He is survived by his dedicated brother, Clarence L Woodard III, affectionately known as "Man," and his wife Lucille; his sister, Judy Woodard Tillis; his brother, Terrell Woodard, and his wife Donna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and the compassionate staff at Camelot of Broussard. His memory will also be cherished by countless others who were touched by his kindness and warmth. While Donald never experienced the roles of husband, father, or grandfather, his heart was so expansive that he was loved by many who considered him their special love. Donald's life was a testament to the power of unconditional love, a lesson he taught without the need for formal education. His ability to express love was a gift that transcended the challenges he faced. Donald found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as listening to "Sanford and Son," where he would always laugh at the right moments, and delighting in collecting change, cookies, and popcorn puffs. These small joys were a reflection of his gentle and kind nature, which he shared generously with those around him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home for the compassion, patience, and care they provided to Donald during his stay. A special note of thanks goes to Shay Smith, LPN, whose heart of gold made a significant impact on Donald's life. Though Donald's journey on this earth has come to an end, his spirit lives on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. As we bid farewell to a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, we take solace in knowing that his legacy of warmth and kindness will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Donald. You are loved beyond measure and will be missed more than words can express.
