In Loving Memory of Donald Ray Watson With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donald Ray Watson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Donald departed this world peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on July 24, 1945, in the charming town of Cambridge, Ohio, Donald was the cherished son of Marie B. Watson and Earnest E. Watson. His early years in Ohio were filled with love and laughter, alongside his sisters, Bernadine Brister and Debbie Carpenter. Donald found the love of his life, Judy K. McIlyar, with whom he shared a journey of companionship and devotion. Together, they built a beautiful life in Royse City, Texas, where they raised their family and created countless cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to his three children: Jeffrey Watson of Terrell, Texas; David Watson of Royse City, Texas; and Melissa Craig of McKinney, Texas. Donald's legacy lives on through his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. A man of deep faith, Donald was a devoted member of the United Presbyterian Church, where he found community and purpose. His kind spirit and unwavering support touched many lives within the congregation and beyond. Donald was preceded in death by his loving parents, Marie and Earnest, but leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Donald's life and honor his memory at a service to be held on August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, located at 2500 Tx-66, Rockwall, Texas, 75087. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Donald Ray Watson, whose generous heart and compassionate nature will always be remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we find comfort in the love and memories he leaves behind.
