It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald LeRoy DeBolt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on August 16, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 29, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio, Donald was the cherished son of Charles and Delores DeBolt and brother to the late Edward DeBolt.
Donald was a man of extraordinary intellect and compassion, traits that he honed through his impressive academic journey. He earned a Master's Degree from Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan, a testament to his dedication to learning and personal growth. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for his distinguished career as a clinical psychologist and partner in a private practice clinic, where he spent decades helping and healing those in need.
Donald’s professional accomplishments were only rivaled by the depth of his personal relationships. Known for his quick wit and delightful humor, he always had a story or a joke ready to share. His ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued was a gift that touched many lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of his professional life, Donald was a passionate individual with a zest for life. He was an avid golfer, spending countless hours on the greens where he forged friendships and enjoyed the serene beauty of the sport. His allegiance to Michigan State extended beyond academics; he was a dedicated follower of their college sports teams, cheering them on with fervor and pride.
Donald is survived by his loving family, who will forever cherish his memory and continue to celebrate the love and laughter he brought into their lives. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Delores DeBolt, and his brother, Edward DeBolt, who undoubtedly welcomed him home with open arms.
A service to honor and celebrate Donald’s life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Donald's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to the generosity and kindness he showed throughout his life.
