It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lee Foreman, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us on January 22, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 4, 1948, in Rusk, Texas, Donald was a beacon of warmth and creativity throughout his life. Donald was the cherished son of John and Ruby Foreman and is now reunited with them and his younger brother, Stacy Foreman, who predeceased him. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Donavan (Yomi) Foreman, his five brothers, Wilford, Roland, Mitchell, Ricky, and Keith Foreman, and three sisters, Phyllis, Sonya, and Darlene Foreman. His memory will also be cherished by a host of relatives and close friends. Donald’s academic journey began at Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary School in Rusk Texas and continued at Katy High School. His thirst for knowledge and passion for education led him to California, where he earned a scholarship to attend and graduate from Stanford University. He received a Business Degree from Stanford and a teaching degree from San Jose State University. Donald dedicated many years to shaping young minds as a schoolteacher for the Palo Alto Unified School District and later as the Vice Principal at Belle Haven Elementary School in Menlo Park. After his time in education, Donald ventured into the world of retail sales before discovering his true calling in paper hanging. In April 1981, he established his own paper hanging business, drawing upon his skills in sewing and tailoring. His talent and dedication allowed him to remain self-employed for over 30 years, a venture he truly enjoyed. A man of many talents, Donald was an active member of the African American Quilting Guild Organization and the Wallpaper Association of California. His hobbies included photography, sewing, woodworking, cooking, and baking. He was also a generous soul, regularly volunteering in his community. A celebration of Donald’s life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Belle Haven Community Campus Center, located at 100 Terminal Ave., Menlo Park, CA, 94025. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald's memory may be made to the African American Quilt Guild of Oakland, an organization close to his heart. Donald Lee Foreman will forever be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration. May his soul rest in peace.
