It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald James Alaggio, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left this world on May 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 20, 1963, in West Islip, New York, Donald lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Donald was the cherished son of Arthur and Dolores Alaggio and was deeply loved by his siblings. Though he is now reunited with his predeceased brothers Arthur John and Kevin, and sister Arlene, his spirit and legacy live on through his surviving family members—his children Cody, Noah, and Anthony Alaggio, who were the light of his life. Donald's love and guidance will forever be cherished by his brother Andrew Alaggio, and sister Jean-Marie Carter and spouse James Carter and sister Dolores Garrett and spouse Robin Crook as well as his extended family members Adele Miller, Adele Lepre, and Melissa Kontir and family. A proud alumnus of St. John the Baptist High School, Donald went on to build a rewarding career in construction, working across New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. His work was a testament to his strong work ethic and determination, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Donald’s life was a tapestry of vibrant interests and passions. An avid lover of nature, he found peace and joy in the great outdoors. His enthusiasm for motorcycles, sports cars, and trucks was infectious, often sharing his excitement with those around him. His quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks; he had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Donald’s kindness and his unwavering willingness to help others touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and generosity. Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find solace in the memories of his infectious laughter and the love he shared so freely. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of family and friendship. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. Those who wish to honor Donald's memory are invited to make a donation to the charity of their choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and support for those in need. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us celebrate the life of Donald James Alaggio—a life that was full of love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit.
