It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Donald Eugene Boyd, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Don departed peacefully from this world on June 18, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and adventure. Born on October 4, 1941, in Tracy, California, Don was the cherished son of Ralf and Minnie Boyd. He grew up in a family that instilled in him values of integrity, diligence, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors—qualities that he carried throughout his life. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964, stationed in Germany. During his service, he was recognized for his marksmanship with the Rifle M-14, a testament to his dedication and skill. Following his military service, Don found his calling in the logging industry, where he became a well-respected and sought-after blade operator. His professional journey led him to build his own construction business, Tri County Construction, in California the business flourished, marking a significant personal accomplishment for Don and a source of pride for his family. An avid outdoorsman, Don found solace and joy in elk hunting and fishing in the high mountain waters. His love for nature and adventure eventually brought him to the majestic landscapes of Wyoming. After marrying the love of his life Teri Francis Boyd they together embarked on a new chapter of life in Wyoming. There, he shared countless memories and campfire stories with his good friend Craig Whitlock and his son Andrew, stories that would brighten any room and keep everyone laughing. Don, ever the storyteller, did later in life chuckle and admit that some tales may have been slightly embellished Don also found great joy in the little farm he and his wife Terri built. He took particular pride in his garden, delighting in delivering fresh veggies to all the ladies on Lane 8, spreading kindness and community spirit. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Terri Francis Boyd, who remained a constant source of inspiration and love in his life. Don is survived by his children: Karen L Boyd of San Andreas, CA; Kathleen Degraef of Angels Camp, CA; and Karl J Boyd of San Andreas, CA. His stepchildren, Mark Dougherty of Jamestown, CA; Dwain Dougherty of Spring Creek, NV; and Kathy Praster of Angels Camp, CA, also carry forward his legacy. Don was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. A celebration of Don's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 16:16 at the Boyd Ranch, located at 272 Lane 8. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Don's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and community. Donald Eugene Boyd will be remembered as a man of great character, whose life was defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. His stories, his kindness, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
