This foundation set the stage for a fulfilling career and a life dedicated to family and community. He began his professional life working for the City of Jenks, Oklahoma, before embarking on a long and rewarding career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Lawton. Over 34 years, Don worked across various departments, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues before retiring. In 1979, Don married Pamela, the love of his life. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, as they celebrated 46 years of marriage, sharing countless memories filled with laughter and joy. Together, they raised two remarkable daughters, Kelly High and April Keene, who were the pride and light of his life. Don was also a devoted grandfather to Emily and Theo, his cherished grandchildren, who brought boundless joy to his days. Don's family was at the heart of his existence. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his daughters, Kelly and April; his grandchildren, Emily and Theo; his mother, Iona; and his siblings, Jerry, Jon, and Nancy. He was predeceased by his father, Donald O. Hoopert, and his grandparents, Joseph and Thelma Hoopert, and Ralph and Christina Swanson. A man of quiet nature and kind heart, Don was known for his generosity and compassion. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, whether dove hunting with his brothers, enjoying fishing trips with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, or discovering new destinations through travel and scenic drives. These passions reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his deep connection to family and friends. A service to honor and celebrate Don's life will be held at John Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 S. Broadway Avenue, Moore, OK 73160. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization close to their hearts. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care and INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center for their unwavering support and compassionate care during Don's illness. Don's legacy of kindness and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
