Obituary of Donald A. Lokken It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Donald A. Lokken, who left this world peacefully at home on June 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Don was born on September 27, 1937, in the charming town of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Arthur and Celia Lokken. Throughout his life, Don exemplified the virtues of kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Carol, and together they built a family filled with warmth and laughter. Don was the proud father of two sons, Jim, who is happily married to Sylvia, and Dave, who shares his life with Emily. His legacy is further carried on by his three cherished granddaughters, Ellie, Maggie, and Betsy. In addition to his immediate family, Don is survived by his brother, Orrie, and sister-in-law, Mary, as well as numerous close friends, including Tap and Sherry, and Ed and Bob, who were like family to him. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Nina, sister Fern, brother-in-law Lowell Bradfish, and grandson Tommy Lokken. Don's life was marked by his love for the outdoors, particularly his passion for skiing, which led him to become an active member of the Nordic Ski Club. He was also a man of quiet faith and deep conviction, finding solace and community at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fairbanks. A celebration of Don's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fairbanks, located at 4448 Pikes Landing Rd, Fairbanks. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and honor the extraordinary life Don lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hospice of the Tanana Valley, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Nordic Ski Club, organizations that held special significance in Don’s life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice of the Tanana Valley and the Alzheimer’s Association for their compassionate care during Don's final days. Don Lokken will be remembered as a man of integrity, warmth, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
